Mud Pump
Drilling soft geological formations ‘mud circulation drilling method’ is used. A mix of water and thickening additives are pumped down inside the drill pipe to wash drill cuttings to the surface – the water/mud column in the borehole also effectively supports soft and saturated formation from collapsing.
PAT have a standard range of pumps that can be applied to any model of PAT Rig.

BH development compressor
A dedicated borehole development compressor can be used in place of the main drilling compressorin order to free up the main compressor and drilling rig, for move on to the next drilling site.
PAT offers a borehole development compressor with a flexible hose system on a steel reel and stand.

Drill pipes
Drilling pipes and threaded accessories are provided with all our rigs, manufactured by PAT in our facilities located in Bangkok (Thailand).
All threading are automated by CNC machinery, tailor made to suit specific lengths and sizes for special requirements. All drilling pipes are provided with thread protectors also made in house.

Drag bits and Reamer-Stabilizers
PAT Factory manufactures in house a full range of high-grade tungsten toothed drag blade drill bits and reamers.
See table below for common sizes stocked.
Steel blades are CNC profile cut and then machined with sunken pockets into which the tungsten tips are brazed by a temperature by
a controlled induction coil.
Please request factory for any non-standard sizes or blade profiles required. -
PDC Drill Bits
PDC Drill Bits (Polycrystalline Diamond Compact Bit)
A PDC insert is a tough man-made material that equals the hardness of a natural diamond and is three
times the hardness of tungsten carbide. This allows it to maintain a durable, sharp edge that, when rotating and pushed into a rock formation with modest weight on drill bits – particularly when compared to tricone rock roller bits, the PDC will continually scrape at the surface to cut material
PDC bits can be used with drill mud circulation in unstable water
saturated formations on with compressed air if the formation is stable

Sub Adaptors
Threaded ‘Sub Adaptors' are used to join drilling tools and accessories such as hammers or drill bits to common drill pipe. A standard range of sub adaptors are produced in our workshop by CNC turning and vertical machining centre and held in stock.
Also, we can manufacture special sub adaptors with specific threads to meet any customer requirement.

Air Compressors
The best method to drill an open hole in consolidated rock is to use as Down-the- Hole Hammer striking a hard tungsten tipped button bit. DTH hammers are powered by compressed air that pick and drive the heavy steel piston onto the drill bit to percussively break and pulverise the very hardest rock – the discharging air passes through the drill bit and lifts the rock debris to surface.
